Did anyone else watch the Grammy’s last night? I must say it’s one of the better ones in recent years. Pink’s performance of “Glitter in the Air” was just breathtakingly beautiful. Like Diablo Cody said, no one has an excuse to lipsync anymore. haha You can view the video of the performance at the bottom of this entry. And can somebody tell me how Taylor Swift won album of the year? I mean, I can see how her music would be appealing to tweens, but…Grammy material? I think not.

• Scans – added some scans of Lady Gaga’s The Fame Monster CD booklet. Didn’t like her makeup at the Grammy’s, but her duet with Elton John was pretty nice.

School started recently and already I am exhausted, but I blame myself for sleeping so late. The first day was nice, all bustling with people. But it quickly got annoying after the second day. On the contrary, my finance class is so awkwardly silent. Urgh. Not digging these intro classes. It was nice seeing old friends again, though. Other than that, the work load so far is no different from what I did over winter break. Good preparation?

Why, hello. Today was the first day of class for me and it was rather mellow. I believe I’m taking high school Physics all over again. What fun. Looking forward to an interesting semester. Tutoring, interning, BCAS, and classes. Woot.

For those of you still following the K-pop scene, you may have heard about f(x), a new girl group SM has conjured up. I don’t know if their name is supposed to be related to Calculus in any way, but it’s pretty corny. Victoria Song, the leader of the group, is actually Chinese. Represent! Too bad she (who is 22) is stuck with a bunch of 15 and 16-year-olds. Not that I have anything against teens since I was one myself before, but that probably means she’s not deviating from the cutesy image any time soon. Another girl, Krystal Jung, is actually Jessica’s (of SNSD) younger sister. And let me just say, if she’s anything like her older sister, I am not going to like her. Something about Jessica just annoys me to no end. Of course, the most talked-about member is the androgynous (or so it seems) Amber, who is also a Chinese-American (yay!). Unfortunately, SM is selling her as a handsome dude. And, well, if she happens to be straight, which I think she is, then I feel sorry for the poor girl. And how awkward, too.

Here’s their 40-second MV teaser. By the way, the full song isn’t all that impressive, unlike Shinee’s debut song, “Noona is so Pretty (Replay)” (which is actually the only song I like by them from their debut album). But their voices sound a bit more mature than SNSD’s, ironically. Kind of like CSJH’s (who, by the way, SM totally ditched! And they have actual talent!).

Staying in the basement for a few hours with good music playing leads to Photoshop productivity, I discovered today. I was able to design two drafts of the BCAS ads we’ll be using on Thursday for Freshman Convocation.

Actually, the first one looks rather empty. Didn’t really know what else to add. *shrugs* Margaret, our club’s president, said she wanted something less professional so hopefully the second design is more appropriate. We really have to update our Twitter… Maybe I’ll have all our members this semester get an account. mwahahaha!

Small update:

• Scans – added 3 scans of Song Hye Kyo. Susan and I got Jimmy to snag the Laneige booklets for us while we were at a shopping mall in Xi’An. haha

It doesn’t feel like school is starting next week. Well, I better prepare myself mentally and finish compiling the study abroad documentation. Blergh.

I miss hearing this song in clothing shops at the underground mall in Nanjing. =( I love Dara; she’s adorable. And she’s getting better at singing live.
