Took my Macro midterm today. While I’m pretty sure I didn’t get anything less than a B+, I was really hoping for an A. I know I got at least 3 questions wrong out of 47 already. *sigh* That’s borderline A and A-. I really shouldn’t doubt my gut feelings and change my answers. And I’ve been following up on current events, too! Why must the questions be so number-specific? I know the overall trend of the economy.
Anyway, no use moping over it now. Let’s look forward to a longish weekend! Plans include homework, studying, working on project, shopping, watching foreign films, and photographing. Awesome. It’s little things like this that make life worth living. And the project is actually quite fun since I’m a marketing enthusiast. =) While finance and accounting are important, I don’t think I can spend the rest of my adult years doing that.
After tutoring today (last class cancelled!), I’ll go to Chinatown and do my brother a favor by picking up his medical papers. I’ve been criticizing him a lot, and rightfully so, about how he spends too much money. Ever since he got his job, it’s nonstop shopping every week. Last week it was clothes and a watch. This week it’s a jacket and Jordans. And according to the question I got wrong on the test, the personal savings rate in the U.S. is now 4-7%. Pfft. Not for him. Nonetheless, I haven’t been a very good sister either. I have a responsibility to take care of my younger brother and “reform” his money-wasting ways. So for once I’ll help him out (since my mathematical abilities are reaching their limit and I can’t tutor him much anymore as he approaches Calculus).
This weekend I’ll be applying to an internship at Y&R. Ever since Juan Cano came back to Baruch to speak to us about the company, I’ve been really interested in working for an actual marketing agency. Not that I don’t like the company I currently work for. My co-workers and boss are all super nice and I do get to build up my portfolio designing stuff. Plus, I get to listen to new music all the time. But I can’t stay here forever. Gotta always expand and look for other opportunities. So hopefully next summer I’ll be able to intern at Y&R…if they accept my resumé and if I don’t flunk the interview.
Aja!

I get to listen to music all day long and what we do is sound marketing. Plus, my boss is totally nice and really, really caring as I found out today. And she likes Coldplay and Justin Timberlake, too.
