[ music ] Haru Haru // Big Bang So Friday was the last “official” day of CPC, even though many of us will return next week to volunteer and help out the teachers. I’m really going to miss the people there. It was a pretty eventful and interesting day, to say the least. My class threw us SYEPs a mini party. | Bazaar Week |
So this week is bazaar week where we basically have corny handmade games, cheap prizes, overpriced tickets, and cold food. It was better on Monday. Nonetheless, at least the kids are enjoying themselves, completely oblivious to the fact that they’re being ripped off to the extreme. And the music isn’t bad either. This kind of reminds me of the Relay for Life, especially the part where I am half-asleep. Still, I prefer taking care of the kids, even if they cry every day, one after another. It’s not like my booth is making any money from the cheesy “badminton” game anyway. Nonetheless, I did take some pictures with my phone today. Posted on August 13th, 2008 | work | 3 Comments » |

| The Dark Knight |
[ music ] Funky Town // Namie Amuro What a hot day! But we still had to take the kids to the Queens Zoo. Walking there was annoying since they were sooo slow and the other classes complained about our group. The class is really chaotic without the teacher. One of the students touched a dead rat… I just liked the mist machines. It wasn’t long until they started complaining like crazy about the heat and lack of water/food. After work I went to watch The Dark Knight with Peter and friends. Waited half an hour. -_- The auditorium was packed so we had to sit on the steps. Even worse, the usher tried to make us leave and go to guest services since it’s a fire hazard. But Peter complained to them about overbooking the theater; why should he, who paid for the tickets, be kicked out when it’s their fault for having so many people? Nonetheless, the movie was quite snazzy. Warning: spoilers ahead Posted on July 18th, 2008 | events, the dark knight | 4 Comments » |
| Class Trip |
[ music ] What You Got // Colby O’ Donis ft. Akon Had a slight cold this morning. Luckily, it went away during the class trip. Take 200 kids on the subway to a shady theatre in Sunnyside and you got yourself some stressed teachers and assistants. We went to see Journey to the Center of the Universe. Pretty sucky movie, kind of like a rip-off from Jurassic Park but not nearly half as good. And the popcorn was way buttery and salty. There was too many boring dialogue in the beginning that the kids definitely didn’t understand. They all said, “Ewwwww” in unison during the kissing scenes. haha Such innocent little kids. :p Scanning pages of a magazine and posting them in a Livejournal community with over 7,000 members does wonders, I’ve noticed. Ever since my Gyao scans, the number of unique visitors went from a mere 200 to over 1,000. And just a note… hosting is still open. =) Sign up! Thanks for the Japanese noodles, Mrs. Chan! And thanks for a wonderful evaluation, Ms. Laurie! :D

Sugoi! This has motivated me to buy at least one magazine every month and scan it. I wonder if I get discounts for being a repeat customer at Kinokuniya. However, only three people thanked me for the scans… Show some gratitude, folks!
