Pretty chill

Today was the second day of class and already I had to make a group presentation. Fortunately, it went well without setting the standard too low or too high. We had some interesting discussions about modern China and comparing it to the United States because goodness knows our country is screwed up. It’s fascinating to see the connections between ancient China and how America is doing currently. We do have a lot to learn from China and the Chinese have a lot to learn about themselves: where did they screw up during the Communist Revolution and how can they return to the glory days of the Tang dynasty?

Everyone is busy with classwork right now so there won’t be much time to hang out and explore Nanjing, unfortunately. Nonetheless, we must go through Hunan Road! There are too many shops and food there to miss out on. Though, wherever the tourists go, that’s where the prices are unfair, even if it’s still slightly cheaper than stuff in America.

Last night we went to a Hawaiian restaurant and the waiter/boss there was pretty happy and friendly. Too bad the pizza was expensive, although unique. I never had a duck and broccoli pizza before. We went to the bookstore, too, and were disappointed to find a very limited CD selection. *sigh*
