So I just finished watching Brink of Law with Mom and Dad. It was actually a pretty good series towards the end, though I’ll admit I only watched bits of the beginning, so who am I to judge?
If you want an episode synopsis, I highly recommend K For TVB. My review will not go into depth about what happens but rather my reactions and thoughts on the show. Be warned, for those who haven’t watched it before, although this show is already considered “old,” there will be spoilers up ahead.
All right, let me first comment on the acting. The villains all did very well, which of course includes Michelle Yim and Elliot Yue, but surprisingly, Shirley Yeung was good, too. Then again, I’ve always hated her fake acting anyway so I guess it came in handy here. There were so many times I wanted to just slap that bitch across the face, though she is the best-looking female in the cast. But the Miss Hong Kong I really despised in this series was Kate Tsui because that girl can NOT act! Understandably, I guess, since she’s still fairly new compared to Shirley, but MAN! Pick someone else! She needs to get rid of that blank expression. Just look at the drama poster! You barely even notice she’s there! Steven Ma and Ron Ng were pretty good in this series, as expected. For some reason I never get tired of watching Steven play the valiant, clever hero in TVB series. Bernice’s acting also surprised me because it was quite decent since she played an experienced undercover cop which was very cool. I have to say, though, one of my favorite actresses in this series was Steven’s younger sister, Yoyo Chen. :p
