Bought an iMac yesterday. It’s hot. Hooray for widescreen HD monitors! Of course, now there’s a ton of empty space on my desk (which was kinda small to begin with). Hopefully designing stuff would be a lot more efficient now. I still love my HP desktop, but every time I loaded Photoshop it would lag like crazy. My brother was complaining about always getting my second-hand computers. Kid, don’t be complaining. You have your own laptop and when you had your first second-hand computer, I was still traveling back and forth to the library at that age. Besides, you didn’t have to pay a cent. :p Anyway, there’s a lot of design work to do. Logotypes, fliers, pamphlets. Fun fun. Gotta abuse the font book later. Unfortunately, I forgot to save all my bookmarks from the other computer so…if you guys have any good design/inspirational sites to recommend, post the links below!

[ music ] Remapping the Human Soul album // Epik High

Ah, one of my favorite kpop albums. Raw beats, biting lyrics – before autotune reared its ugly head. And congrats to Tablo oppa and Hye Jung unnie on their wedding! Hope they enjoy their honeymoon and that unnie gives birth to a beautiful, healthy baby when they return. Them and Sean’s family, yo. Makes me wanna get hitched already.

This morning I received some good news. My poem, “August” has been chosen for publication for my school’s literary magazine. Good stuff. Never had my writing published before, so this is pretty exciting (and I’m telling myself here that the selection process was very competitive even though it probably wasn’t). Thank you, Encounters! I will continue writing more poetry [that hopefully doesn't suck].

One of my commenters requested a tutorial for this flyer, which I think I will work on once I’m through with this week and the next Monday and Tuesday. Then I can look forward to Thanksgiving and hopefully chill out for a while. In the meantime, here are two flyers I’ve recently created for school events. The first one was kind of plain at first until I thought of repeating the company name as a pattern for the background. The second one I’m not too fond of; it was kind of a rushed job. I don’t know. I guess my brain was temporarily fried. The third one still needs some editing. The last one was for a pre-Halloween party.

[ music ] Why Try to Change Me Now // Fiona Apple

To all my visitors who drop by looking for updates regarding resources or graphics, I am so, so sorry I’ve been slacking off for months. The truth is, ever since studying abroad, life has been pretty busy and hectic, just the way I like it (well, to a certain degree). It’s not exactly because I’m completely uninspired; I’m still designing flyers and stickers and possibly some business cards. I guess, to be frank, I’m concentrating on areas that will have an effect on my near future, so I’m designing for clients, school organizations, and for my internship. Hope you understand it’s not because I don’t care about you guys – I can only do so much!

So this is the latest flyer I’ve finished designing for a fraternity at my college. They are totally awesome, friendly people. Show some support and show up at the party! It was also the first time I purchased a stock online and man those things are expensive when purchasing on-the-go! Anyway, I actually quite like the colors here and it looks awesome at 300 dpi. It was also the first APD flyer I designed that I saw around campus in color. Sometimes I wonder where they’re passing the flyers out.

[ music ] Mr. Boogie // F(x)

Thanks to everyone for the get well wishes. My condition has significantly improved, especially after visiting the doctor yesterday. Now I have the energy to keep working and doing homework!

Here are two flyers I’ve designed and edited over the weekend. Our club color is orange, but I’ll try to mix in some blue next time.

Yesterday I hung out with my friend Ting and took a lot of pictures. As always, only a few come out half-decent. We spent about half an hour chasing a butterfly around. haha Named it “Annabelle Lee.”

Strange, I didn’t think I would end up being a fan of 4Minute, but their first mini-album “For Muzik” is pretty catchy, despite the abuse of auto-tune. I wish their choreography for “Muzik” was a bit crazier, though, since it’s a fast song.

My first impression of f(x) was that they were nothing special. Actually, I still believe they’re average. But their song “Lachata” is starting to grow on me even though the lyrics are completely pointless. By the way, the full MV is out (see below). Luna is my favorite member – she’s pretty, sings well, and dances well. Kind of reminds me of BoA in a way. And I like the moon reference to her name. haha
